Last Saturday was the last day of the 25th edition of Rally Rzeszow, which was part of both the European Rally Championship and the Poland Rally Championship. A lot has happened during those three days, both positive things as well as not really expected ones. As promised, the rally – featuring also the team from Rybnik – turned out to be very difficult.
Having made a mistake at the very beginning of the rally, Łukasz Habaj and Piotr Woś set off on a chase. This crew announced just before the start that this was going to be their last round of Poland Rally Championship. The driver is now going to focus on racing abroad to get as much experience as possible. “Despite the lost three minutes at the second approach, Łukasz and Piotrek did not give up and eventually finished high, on the second position in the classification of our country’s championship,” says Rallytechnology manager, Robert Gabryszewski. “However, Zbyszek Gabryś and Artur Natkaniec’s return to Fort Fiesta R5 was unlucky. With high tempo from the very beginning, they led the classification after the third approach. Unfortunately, during the fourth one they wiped out and so quit the rally. Most importantly, it was mostly the car that suffered, and it is getting back to its full fitness already, while the crew are getting ready for the next start.”
The duo Dariusz Poloński and Grzegorz Dobosz finished with a great success, winning in 2WD classification as the fastest car with a single-axle drive! “Darek and Grzegorz only confirmed what their fans have known for long – that they are very fast, winning everything possible in their category. In the 4 class also Michał Uliarczyk and Ryszard Ciupka won a podium place. Sadly, the second day was unfortunate for Tomasz Gryc and Michał Kuśnierz, who wiped out losing their high second position in ERC 3. Until then however, they presented a high tempo, my congratulations on that,” added Gabryszewski.
