WELL STARTED SEASON

Rallytechnology team have just got it over with the first two starts of this season. Our crews started off with Valasska Rally, which constituted the first round of Czechia Championship. Just one week later our rally cavalcade was already on Azores, where the Europe Championship was inaugurated. Both those rallies were extremely demanding but our crews faced them bravely.

Łukasz Habaj with his co-driver Daniel Dymurski represented Rallytechnology Team in Azores Rally. These two titled participants debuting as a duo had hard challenges to face. The Azores welcomed them with thick fog and rain that were a real nightmare for all the crews. On some stages visibility did not exceed a few metres, which was particularly awkward considering that the Azorean special stages are not forgiving to mistakes. Habaj and Dymurski luckily made no mistakes and stuck to the track for the whole time of the race, at the same time gaining precious experience. Sadly, the unfortunate 13th special stage was the last one for Łukasz and Daniel, as the cooler in their Ford Fiesta R5 got damaged. Quitting the competition was very hard for our crew, especially that they had a chance for a place in the top five of this extremely difficult rally.

A week earlier Rallytechnology supprted two crews during their starts at our southern neighbours. Tomasz Gryc and Michał Kuśnierz took the start in Valasska Rally as a pure training. Their plan was to complete as many kilometres of the special stages as possible, to prepare them to Poland Championship. Runner-up champions from last year in 2WD class from the beginning presented high tempo, which resulted in the 4th place at the finish line. Just little over eight seconds separated them from the podium. Tomek and Michał have won two special stages, which is quite a challenge with such a good competition.

For Robert Mąsior and Łukasz Bobrowski the start in Valasska Rally was a debut on foreign special stages. InterTruck Rally Team’s crew had to fight technical problems in their Peugeot, but ultimately Robert and Łukasz were 10th in the sixth class.

There is, however, no time for rest. Already from 7th-8th April Rallytechnology is going to participate in ADAC Hessen Rallye Vogelsberg 2017, the sedond round of Germany Championship. There are nearly 90 crews at stake, among them Daniel Chwist with Dariusz Burkat. The crew is going to start in a one-of-its-kind Hyundai i20 R5 serviced by the Rybnik company. There are 12 special stages waiting for the crews with a total of 134 kilometers.

Robert Gabryszewski, Rallytechnology team manager: The feeling of the rally atmosphere after a long break it is really good. Valasska Rally is a very tough and demanding one, with very fast local drivers. Our crews had therefore a difficult challenge to face. Tomek and Michał kept up a high tempo for the whole time, which gave them a chance for the podium. It is a good prognostic for the coming season of Poland Rally Championship, where the challenges will not be any easier. Robert and Łukasz deserve a great applause for finishing their first rally abroad. For them this was a huge testing ground, from which they have drawn a lot of experience.

Azores Rally is always very difficult but this year the weather has made it even more extreme. This was hard for Łukasz debuting on these stages. However, Łukasz with Daniel presented a very mature performance and made a few good times there. Unfortunately, the defect of their cooler blighted their chance for a good result, which otherwise was within reach. Too bad but on the other hand such experiences are inevitable in this sport and only make us stronger. We are now focusing on the upcoming rallies. The first one is the German ADAC Hessen Rallye Vogelsberg, where the duo Chwist/Burkat is going to start in the new Hyundai i20 R5. Thank you for cheering!
