Rallytechnology does not slow down. Last weekend, the crews supported by the Rybnik company fought on the stages of Świdnicki Rally, and the team is already preparing to take part in the Canary Islands Rally. Together with Dariusz Poloński and Łukasz Sitek, they will move to the special stages of the first round of the Abarth Rally Cup, which will be inaugurated in the Canary Islands.
The Zabrze-Ustroń duo will have three rivals at the Abarth 124 Rally RGT this weekend, and will start with number 27th. The two Poles are also signed up for the ERC and ERC 2 category, where they will face the Mitsubishi Lancers’ crews. Dariusz Poloński will make his debut in the Canary Islands in an Italian rally car, but in the rally we will be able to see him already for the second time. In 2017, in the 41st edition of Rally Islas Canarias, behind the wheel of Peugeot 208 R2, together with Balbin Gryczyńska, he achieved the sixth result in the ERC 3 category and seventh in the RC 4 class.
The second round of the European Rally Championship comprises a total of over 200 km of special stages divided into two stages and 16 asphalt special stages. The first day of the rally will start a few minutes after 10 local time (after 11 Polish time). Two laps will consist of three trials, including the longest one of the rally - Tejeda special stage (24.10 km). At the finale of the day, just like last year, the organizer has prepared spectacular evening rides of the super section through Las Palmas. Saturday brings two laps, four trials each, with a total distance of nearly 104 km. The finish line is expected to be crossed around 5:30 pm, (6:30 pm in Poland).
Robert Gabryszewski (Rallytechnology team manager): "The emotions after the inauguration of the Polish Championships are still in the air, while we are already moving to the next start, almost 4500 km away from Świdnica. Two years ago, we had the opportunity to visit this amazing rally and compete with Łukasz Habaj and Darek Poloński among the picturesque areas of the island of Gran Canaria. The event as well as the routes have made a great impression on us, so with even more pleasure we come back to once again support the Poloński / Sitek crew in the Abarth Rally Cup.
Two intense and challenging stages of 43. Rally Islas Canarias 2019 are ahead of us. The second result from the test section and the third from the qualification round seem optimistic. We worked hard on the appropriate Abarth settings in Poland and here on tests. Darek has already proven this year that he can be very effective at the wheel of the RWD car. We are well prepared and we are looking forward to the rally. We also keep our fingers crossed for the second Polish team in the stake - Łukasz Habaj and Daniel Dymurski, who came here as the ERC leaders. "
