The crews and their teams had to wait for almost two weeks for another fight for points in the Polish Rally Championship. Lithuanian Rally Elektrenai (July 12-13, 2019) played the role of the fourth edition of the cycle, and at the same time the round marking the halfway point of the competition, which just like last season will be the only rally abroad included in the Polish championship. The fight will also be a part of the fourth round of the Lithuanian Championship.
58 crews will face the gravel roads in the southern part of Lithuania, and 26 of them registered for the Polish Championships. Rallytechnology team will be represented by two duos in R5 class cars. Daniel Chwist and Kamil Heller will start with number 12 in their Hyundai i20 R5. Four positions behind them, with number 16 Sylwester Płachytka and Jacek Nowaczewski (Ford Fiesta R5) can be seen. The driver from Kłodzko returns to Lithuanian special stages for the first time since the 2013 season.
Unfortunately, Marcin Słobodzian and Kamil Kozdroń will be missing in the RSMP round. The absence of the fourth crew of the general classification is a consequence of their accident and damage to their Fiesta, which occurred during the Rally of Poland.
There are two short, slightly over 1000-meter each, city trials prepared by the Rally Elektreny organizer for the opening of the rally in Elektrenai. However, this will be only a small warm-up before the Saturday part of the rally, in which the crews will face 100 km distance, divided into as many as 14 special stages.
Robert Gabryszewski (Rallytechnology team manager): "The halfway point of the Polish Championships is ahead of us, but more importantly, the final edition of the gravel part of the RSMP. This time the arena of struggles will be Lithuanian gravels. This time, , we left the headquarters of Rallytechnology and set out on a route of over 800 km, to the southern parts of Lithuania, to the city of Elektreny. The distance of the 5th Rally Elektrenai is almost twice as short as the one we facedin Masuria, but it looks like the pace will be just as fast and the weather is just as sunny.
The route has a similar configuration as last year's edition, when the rally debuted in the Polish Championships. The stages are short, on average they comprise a little over 5 km, but there are as many as 16 of them. Fourteen are scheduled for the Saturday part, which will last up to 11 hours. It promises to be an intense and busy weekend for both crews and their teams.
Unfortunately, the course of the Polish Rally meant that we cannot fully enjoy this weekend. On a positive side, Sylwester Płachytka has coped with the injury, but Marcin Słobodzian and Kamil Kozdroń will be missing. Their absence is a big weakness for our team but also a loss for the show. In such a short time they were not able to come back, but we hope that the fans will soon be able to enjoy their ride.
Together with Daniel Chwist and Kamil Heller as well as Sylwester Płachytka and Jacek Nowaczewski, we have a lot of points to catch up after the unlucky Rally of Poland. However, this motivates us even more, also to fight to regain the lead among sponsored teams. Follow the rallies and keep your fingers crossed for the Rallytechnology crew!"
