Rally Elektrenai, taking place in mid-July, marked the halfway point of competition in the Polish Rally Championships. There are three rounds left, during which the fight will only take place on asphalt surface. In addition, two of these rallies will be double-scored, and this makes the fight for the Polish Championship even more exciting.
The first of these rallies will be the 28th Rzeszów Rally planned for this weekend (August 8-10, 2019), to which Rallytechnology is also preparing. The team will show up in Podkarpacie together with Sylwester Płachytka and Jacek Nowaczewski. However, this is not the only team accent, as Marcin Słobodzian and Kamil Kozdroń for this start switch from their Fiesta, which is being rebuilt now, to Skoda Fabia R5. In Rzeszów, they will use different service, but they will still score points for Rallytechnology in the classification of sponsored teams.
Płachytka and Nowaczewski as usual in this season will drive the Ford Fiesta R5. For the driver of Kłodzko it will be the fifth start in the capital of Podkarpacie, and the Rallytechnology tents will appear in the service area of the Rzeszów Rally for the 14th time! This year they will fight in the combined stakes of the Polish Championships, European Rally Trophy (FIA ERT) and Central European Zone Championships (FIA CEZ). Therefore, special stages amount to over 180 kilometers. Eleven of the 54 crews that were on the start list will have cars of R5 category. The official start of the competition is today, but sport fans will have to wait until tomorrow. The first six out of 11 trials are scheduled for Friday.
Robert Gabryszewski (Rallytechnology team manager): From very fast gravel tracks in Masuria and Lithuania, now the Polish Rally Championship is moving to equally fast asphalt in Podkarpacie. Tight and winding stages are the hallmark of the Rzeszów Rally, which for years was appreciated not only by Polish competitors, but also by the European leaders. Rallytechnology has been at this rally every year from the very beginning of the company’s existance and we have many positive memories from this event.
Only one of our duos – Płachytka / Nowaczewski will stand under our service tents this weekend, but we will also support Marcin Słobodzian and Kamil Kozdroń, who are switching to Skoda in Rzeszów, but will continue to fight for points for Rallytechnology.
Sylwester and Jacek also have positive memories from this rally, because they regularly stood on the podium in their class here. In this edition, they have extremely strong competition, but we are convinced that in the first Rzeszów rally in the R5 car they will start with equally strong motivation and will add another valuable result to their list of achievements. Points are doubled this time, so a lot is at stake. See you in the service area and at the stages!
