135 kilometers of special stages, changing weather conditions and an awesome competition – this is how the first round of Poland Rally Championship – 45th Świdnicki-KRAUSE Rally can be summarized. There were 53 crews at the start line, four of which of the Rallytechnology team. At the end of the rally our representatives stood on the podium in the general classification and in class four!
Zbigniew Gabryś and Artur Natkaniec presented a great tempo during the whole event. The crew of Ford Fiesta R5 took the lead during the third special stage and did not give it back until the end of the second day of the competition, fighting a cut-and-thrust combat with Filip Nivett. During the whole rally Gabryś won four special stages and did not once score a finishing time outside of the top five. Finally, the terrific speed of Zbigniew Gabryś and Artur Natkaniec gave them the second place in the first rally of the season.
In the particularly strongly represented class four, Rallytechnology was represented by three crews. Dariusz Poloński with Balbina Gryczyńska did best there. The crew of Peugeot 208 R2 won as many as eight special stages in their class, which gave them the overall win in the rally. For Poloński the start in Świdnicki Rally was purely a training one as his goal in this year is the competition in Europe Championships, which starts for him on the 4 may in Canary Islands.
Tomasz Gryc and Michał Kuśnierz presented an equally great tempo and they were the leaders in their class during the first special stages. The changing weather conditions at the track did not keep them from fighting for the best positions, which resulted in the second place in this event. The points won by Tomek and Michał are particularly precious especially that they are the pretenders to winning the master’s crown in the “single axle” category.
Robert Mąsior with Łukasz Bobrowski also fought strongly in class four. For this crew that was the first start with this car in Świdnicki Rally and their debut can be considered successful. On the Sunday’s special stages Mąsior i Bobrowski scored times in the top four twice in their class and in the end they could enjoy the sixth position, which for a debut in such difficult conditions is a good result.
Robert Gabryszewski, Rallytechnology team manager: We couldn’t ask for a better season opening in RSMP. We won a podium in Świdnicki-KRAUSE Rally in the general classification and in class four, where we also won. Our crews showed a phantastic tempo and that was not easy. It was the first round of the season, which is always preceded by many question marks, additionally the weather was unpredictable. I am glad that this year started so well for us and I believe we do only better from now on. See you at the stages!
