POLOŃSKI’S SUCCESSFUL DEBUT AND HABAJ’S BAD LUCK

The second round of this year’s Europe Championships, the 41st Rally Islas Canarias was the first test of skills on asphalt surface for the best drivers of the Old Continent. Rallytechnology Team was represented in that rally be two crews: Łukasz Habaj with Daniel Dymurski (Ford Fiesta R5) and Dariusz Poloński with Balbina Gryczyńska (Peugeot 208 R2) competing in the ERC3 class.

Łukasz Habaj stood a high Chance for a great result on the Canarian special stages. Last year he won in the ERC3 category here. Unfortunately, bad luck caught him already during the qualification leg. eSky Rally Team crew has damaged their Ford Fiesta R5 so badly that it was not possible to get it ready for the first day of the competition. Łukasz Habaj and Daniel Dymurski do not give up though and their thoughts are already at the next rally.

Dariusz Poloński debuted at Rally Islas Canarias with Balbina Gryczyńska as co-driver. These Rallytechnology representatives showed a great disposition during the qualification leg, scoring the best time amongst single axle-driven vehicles. During the actual special stages, Poloński and Gryczyńska regularly finished in top 10 of the strongly populated ERC3 class, finishing as high as second in the 7th special stage. Eventually, the Polish crew finished on the great sixth position, ahead of another seven crews.

Robert Gabryszewski: Rally Islas Canarias startedparticularly unlucky for us. Łukasz and Daniel damaged the engine of their car and it was not possible to fix it for the first day of the competition. The most important is, however, that nothing happened to the guys, since as you can see from the car, the impact was strong This is a difficult experience that will definitely strengthen them - I believe they will show it at the next start. This weekend we also supported Darek Poloński and Balbina Gryczyńska, who competed in the incredibly hard-working ERC3 class. It was not an easy challenge but our crew showed character, gained valuable experience and achieved a very good result. Now we are focusing on the next rallies during which we will want to play the main roles.
