Every year the German Lausitz Rally attracts a lot of participants and spectators to its gravel stages. This time we are going to see as many as 76 crews at the start line. Two of them – Tomasz Gryc with Michał Kuśnierz and Daniel Chwist with Dariusz Burkat – will be served by Rallytechnology team.
This time the recent Polish champions will let their Peugeot 208 R2 rest as they will try their hand with a 4WD car. Their weapon in this rally will be Ford Fiesta R5. The goal will be foremost to have fun and get accustomed to the new car, which already took place during the tests preceeding the rally. Daniel Chwist also had a fruitful test before the Lausitz Rally. Together with Łukasz Burkat he is going to start for the second time in Hyundai i20 R5.
Robert Gabryszewski, Rallytechnology team manager: The race at our Western neighbors should be very interesting for us! Tomek Gryc and Michał Kuśnierz will make their first kilometers on special stages in a R5 class car, which is going to be a lot of fun at the Lausitz Rally stages. After all, this start is in a way a birthday present for him. Daniel Chwist with Darek Burkat cannot wait until the start either. Interestingly, they are going to be the only crew with Hyudai i20 R5, which certainly will be a nice treat for the spectators. Ahead of us are 170 kilometers of racing on gravel! Keep your fingers crossed!
The crews are to be challenged with the first kilometers of special stages of Lausitz Rally on Friday, 3rd November. First, they will face two, twice-run stages: RK Arena and Mulkwitz. There is, however, much more racing to come on Saturday. The organizers prepared for that day eight special stages with a total length of 120 kilometers. The winners of the rally should be known at about 18 o’clock.
