The upcoming weekend brings a new start in the calendar of the Rallytechnology team. After last week's Tarmac Masters, this time the team traveled across the southern border, to the 25. Vančík Rallysprint Kopná. All that due to the debut of the new rally weapons Dariusz Poloński and Łukasz Sitek, whom we will see in the Abarth 124 Rally RGT car. After last year's races with Ford Fiesta R5, this time the duo faces a completely new challenge. For the Polish Champion in the 2WD Group from the 2016 season, the Czech event will be the first one in which he will drive a rear-driven rally car. For the Zabrze-Ustroń crew it will be another stage of preparation for the Abarth Rally Cup competitions under the FIA ERC. Thanks to this, Polish fans will see Abarth also in Poland, on the stages of the 76th Polish Rally, which will be the third one of six rounds of the cycle.
However, already tomorrow there are not less emotions to come, on the routes of the first round of the Czech Rallysprint 2019, which is one of the oldest events of this type at our southern neighbors. Over 120 teams will come to Slušovice, among which top rally cars and crews from the best Czech and Polish championships. The list of crews includes, among others, 8 R5 and 3 WRC drivers. The competition will take place on Saturday, on 7 special stages with a total distance of almost 70 km. Polish fans will not be left unsatisfied. Next to Polonski and Sitek, another six crews will defend the "white-red" colors.
Robert Gabryszewski (Rallytechnology team manager): "After the start in Tarmac Masters, which unfortunately did not end successfully for us, the next Polish start will be the Świdnicki Rally - Krause, which is coming up in just two weeks from now. Now the time has come for the first start abroad, and the opportunity is unique, because Abarth 124 Rally RGT will appear under our tents. This is the first RWD rally car in our stable, and we have high hopes for it. Over the years of our cooperation with Darek Poloński we have achieved many excellent results and many times reached for the highest trophies.
We are proud that together with the crew we will be taking up a new, exciting challenge and I am convinced that this season our team will achieve further valuable successes.
The first edition is Rallysprint Kopná, where we will see an impressive array of rally cars, from historical ones to the next generation WRC. The rear axle-driven Abarth will be a great complement to this set, and seeing it "in action" will surely cause a great applause from the fans. Darek and Łukasz will certainly make sure of that. Keep your fingers crossed for our crew!"
