The end of the competition in the Polish Rally Championships 2019 is just one weekend away. Starting this coming Friday, the 53rd Lower Silesian Rally (October 4-6), promises a unique season finale. The competition track will be 216.25 km long, divided into an impressive number of 19 special stages. Hence, it will be the longest rally of the 2019 season, and most importantly, just like Rally Poland and Rzeszowski Rally, it will also be double-scored.
The fight for the champion and runner-up title of RSMP was decided on the routes of Rally Silesia, but the competition for the third step of the podium of the general classification is still ongoing. 55 points remain to be earned, which means that at least 8 out of 36 crews on the list of the last round of RSMP have a chance to win the title.
Marcin Słobodzian / Kamil Kozdroń, Sylwester Płachytka / Jacek Nowaczewski and Daniel Chwist / Kamil Heller remain in this group – those are three crews serviced by the Rallytechnology team, which fight in the classification of sponsored teams. The stable from Rybnik, with a loss of only 7 points, ranks second, and came to Duszniki Zdrój to defend the title, which they have kept uninterruptedly since the 2015 season. Ford Fiesta R2 will also join the three cars of the R5 category, with Balbina Gryczyńska driving the car and her co-driver Łukasz Gwiazda.
In the service area, two of these four crews will stand under the Rallytechnology tents. The third duo of the Rally Silesia - Płachytka and Nowaczewski, who, like Słobodzian and Kozdroń, again bet on Fabia R5, and next to Skoda with number 6 will appear Hyundai i20 R5. Chwist and Heller received an “eight” for this rally.
The official start and the first six trials are already scheduled for Friday. On Saturday, the organizer planned the most, as many as 9 stages, which are the longest ones in the entire schedule. The final is four Sunday trials, after which the crews will return to the finish ceremony in Duszniki. We will know the winners around 14:30.
Robert Gabryszewski (Rallytechnology team manager): The end of yet another season for our team in the Polish Rally Championship is approaching fast. There have been many successes and positive emotions in recent months, but difficult moments have also happened. Unfortunately, we can't finish with the full roster as we appeared in Świdnica, but after a successful Silesian Rally, we are still fighting for a few valuable titles. We keep our fingers crossed for all three duos in R5 cars, because they will face a fierce battle in the general classification, where they will also face each other.
We also have a common, very important goal for this weekend, because the fifth title of Polish Sponsored Team Champion is at hand. We also strongly count on Balbina and Łukasz, who defend our colors in the 2WD field. However, before the final results are known, an exciting weekend awaits us with the Lower Silesian Rally. Its configuration and number of episodes brings to mind the former beautiful period of Polish rallies.
A strong result from the beginning of September, when threeof our crews reached the finish in the top eight, is a good omen for the upcoming start in Lower Silesia. See you and we are counting on your support!
