HOME START IN NEW AND STRENGTHENED LINE-UP

The halfway point of the competition in the Polish Rally Championship 2020 will be marked by the finish line at the Stadium in Chorzów, and the Rallytechnology team will also fight for more points. After starting in the gravel Rally Liepaja (August 14-16 / second FIA ERC round) and the historic debut in Project E 2020 – the rallycross racing cycle for electric cars (August 22-23, 2020 - Holjes / Sweden), the time has come now to go back to the asphalt surface on our home ground.

Three rally cars will be serviced under the tents of the Rybnik stable, and additionally the Radosław Typa / Szymon Gospodarczyk duo, as in Rzeszów, will score points in the classification of sponsorsed teams. The team has prepared two Volkswagen Polo GTi R5’s and Abarth 124 Rally RGT for Dariusz Poloński and Łukasz Sitek. However, the composition of Rallytechnology has changed significantly. Number 5 was given to Tomasz Kasperczyk and Damian Syty - two-time winners of the general classification of Rally of Silesia, in the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

In the second rally Polo car we will see Daniel Chwist with co-driver Kamil Heller. The driver from Krakow had the opportunity to ride his first kilometers of SS already last Sunday, during the 29th Rally Masters Świdnica 2020. He finished his debut on the highest step of the podium, after winning half of the six special stages. The car made a very positive impression on the driver, so after ten rallies behind the wheel of a Hyundai i20 R5, this weekend he put on the start in Volkswagen.

Directly behind the Chwist / Heller duo, Poloński and Sitek will start the stages with number 14. For the fans it will be the second opportunity to see the rear-wheel-drive Abarth this season. Both crews, along with the aforementioned Typa and Gospodarczyk (Peugeot 208 R2), will fight together under the brand of the Rallytechnology team, which – with its 51 points – leads the RSMP 2020 sponsored teams’ classification.

The official start is soon, from 5 pm, but the fight will take place on Saturday, with over 100 km and 7 special stages.

Robert Gabryszewski (Rallytechnology team manager): After long trips to the ERC and RX rounds, we are coming back home for another dose of sports emotions, just over 40 kilometers from the Rallytechnology headquarters. Sport-wise, August was not particularly successful for us. Despite the great results in individual sections, bad luck canceled out the result at the finish line.

We strongly believe that the weekend with the Rally of Silesia will be a strong reboot and a new season opening for the whole team. We have a really strong line-up in this rally, strengthened even more thanks to the return of Daniel Chwist to the stages. Tomasz Kasperczyk and Damian Syty are the most titled crew of this rally, and their pace at the second stage of Rzeszów clearly showed that the third victory in Chorzów is within their reach.

Darek and Łukasz are also hungry for rally driving and hope for a strong result in "their backyard". This year's edition has been shortened to 100 km, but despite that ahead of us lies a very intense Saturday. We hope the atmosphere will be hot, as it was during Rally di Roma, and the emotions electrifying, as at the Swedish Holjes Motorstadion circuit.

We keep our fingers crossed for our entire squad, for strong individual results and another team victory. We leave behind us the bad luck and bad memories, and from tomorrow on we start the fight with a new energy.
