STRONG SEASON OPENING - TRIPLE PODIUM FOR RALLYTECHNOLOGY

Last weekend, April 10th-11th, marked Rallytechnology’s 16th year in rallying. The team from Rybnik, whose rich sports achievements include six consecutive Polish Championships in the Sponsorship Teams classification, started even this season with another victory. As in last year's edition, the crew now competing in the Volkswagen Polo GTI R5, serviced by Rallytechnology mechanics, turned out to be unrivaled in the first round of the Lower Silesian Tarmac Masters series.

Two Volkswagen Motorsport rally cars and the characteristic white and red Abarth 124 Rally RGT – that of the crew Dariusz Poloński / Łukasz Sitek – stood in the service area at the stadium in Nowa Ruda.

Tomasz Kasperczyk and Damian Syty, were only 8.5 seconds away from the highest step of the podium on the third weekend of June 2020,. The Tiger Energy Drink Rally Team crew, started second on the route of the 5th Tech-Mol Rally, but then became the first crew to take the leadersip of the rally. In the morning loop they enhanced their advantage, and they did not give up their leads until the finish line. In total, they won four out of six trials. The remaining stages were won by Chuchała and Rozwadowski in Skoda Fabia R5 evo2 (+2.8 seconds).

Behind the top two crews, another beautiful duo: Maciej Lubiak (Hyundai i20 R5) and Zbigniew Gabryś, who is returning to racing. The driver from Brzeszcze, supported by Rallytechnology, made his debut behind the wheel of another Polo, together with the new co-driver Krzysztof Janik. Gabryś, already on the first trial, confirmed his excellent disposition, scoring a time in top 3 of the stake. Throughout the rally, he kept his pace between the third and fourth places, although he left the greatest emotions to the end. On the last trial, he attacked so effectively that he took the podium away from the opponent by a difference of 1.7 seconds.

Poloński and Sitek did not have big chances against their rivals in the R5 cars, but they did great in the rear-drive and the PRO1 category. The European FIA ERC 2019 runners-up in the Abarth Rally Cup had strong competitors in the Tech-Mol Rally, in the latest Rally3 and Rally4 cars specification. Mid-way of the 48.5 km-long trail they were the runners-up in the class, behind Byśkiniewicz and Cieślar, with one stage won on their account. They also won the third run of the trial by Cosmos, thanks to which they strengthened their second place in the class and on the lead in the "axis". The sixth place in the general classification is their highest of the three starts so far in the Tarmac Masters.

Robert Gabryszewski (Rallytechnology team manager): “We start the season with the most enjoyable result possible. A few days before the start of the Świdnicki Rally, this victory of Tomek Kasperczyk is extremely valuable. The whole team did a great job this weekend. Zbyszek and Krzysiek made their debut in a great style, and their pursuit gave us another double podium. On these difficult routes, the Polo GTI R5 proved its potential, and the third place is an important test for Gabrys and Janik.

Thanks to Darek Poloński and Łukasz Sitek, we are bringing a set of cups from these competitions. On the sections of the Tech-Mol Rally, they presented not only a spectacular, but most imoportantly an effective style of driving an RWD car. We are happy about the result and their pace, but it is still only a part of what we managed to achieve. In the context of the inauguration of the RSMP 2021, more important is that we verified the settings and that we have completed all those kilometers, which will pay off in RSMP."
