The fourth start of the Rallytechnology team this year was undoubtedly the most awaited one. Mechanics and crews supported by the current Polish Champions in the Sponsorship Teams' classification will stand today at the starting line of the opening round of the Polish Rally Championship. The weekend with the Rally Zemaitija promises a sporting spectacle that fans from Poland have not had the opportunity to watch for a long time. The competition will also be a novelty for the vast majority of the "white and red" teams waiting for the start of today's first and only trial.
Three crews supported by Rallytechnology will appear on the short asphalt section of Kielme, and all of them will use cars in the R5 specification. Tomasz Kasperczyk / Damian Syty and Zbigniew Gabryś / Krzysztof Janik will compete for RSMP 2021 points in the Volkswagen Polo GTI R5, and Daniel Chwist and Kamil Heller will join the line-up of Class 2 in the Hyundai i20 R5. It will also be their 11th joint start.
The representatives of the Tiger Energy Drink Rally Team definitely are the most experienced ones when it comes to the specificity of the Lithuanian stages, as they have already successfully competed at their south-western neighbors four times. For Zbigniew Gabrys, the fast, slippery and spectacular gravels of the Rally Zemaitija will be a unique opportunity to return to the sections of the RSMP.
The updated, shortened rally schedule finally includes 11 special stages with a total distance of 108 km.
Robert Gabryszewski (Rallytechnology team manager): While waiting for the new season of 2021, probably each of us came up with various scenarios, both good and bad. However, it looks like it will be a great weekend and the beginning of the struggle, which will compensate for the delays. New routes, a starting list with many experienced drivers from Lithuania, so unknown for the majority of Polish crews, and all this on a loose surface.
Such a combination, even before the start of the competition, is already impressive. The whole stake is really strong and all teams are well prepared, so it will be especially hard to score points here. The challenge is difficult, but all the more mobilizing. We join the ranks with three experienced crews, with whom we have achieved many successes over the years of cooperation, with a plan to win even more on Lithuanian gravel - also in the classification of sponsoring teams. Traditionally, we count on your crossed fingers!!
