There are only hours left to the beginning of the largest motorsport event in Silesia. At the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów, there is already the forefront of the combined series of the Polish Rally Championship, the Historic Polish Rally Championship and the Silesian Rally Championship. On the entry list for the 5th edition of Silesia Rally there were 106 teams, including a strong representation of crews from Upper Silesia.
The Rallytechnology team is also getting ready for their home event. The company from Rybnik will start this weekend in the strongest line-up. Three rally cars will stand in front of the service tents and they will fight for points in Class 2. The highest, second starting number was given to the vice-leaders of the ProfiAuto RSMP - Tomasz Kasperczyk and Damian Syty. Zbigniew Gabryś will complete his 99th rally in the second Volkswagen Polo GTI R5. The driver from Brzeszcze, together with Krzysztof Janik, as the tenth duo entered the ramp of the official start ceremony at Sławik and Antalla Square in Katowice.
The line-up will be completed by Dariusz Poloński and Łukasz Sitek, who will present the Abarth 124 Rally RGT in green Extral Aluminum colors - specially prepared for this start. The duo appeared as the leaders of the ERC 2 category of the FIA ERC European Rally Championships and more importantly - the new champions in the Abarth Rally Cup 2021. Poloński and Sitek will go together in the Silesian Rally for the fourth time. They achieved the best results in the season 2018, behind the wheel of the Fiesta R5, when they were just over 13 seconds behind the podium in the overall classification. They fought for the third place with Zbigniew Gabrys, for whom it was also the best result in the three starts so far.
Definitely the best statistics from the Silesian Rally, belongs to Tomasz Kasperczyk and Damian Syty. Representatives of Tiger Energy Drink Rally Team have grated in all editions of the youngest from the Polish championship rounds and as many as two victories in the overall classification. "The worst" result they won in Silesia is the third degree of podium from the season 2020.
In this year's edition, 9 special stages with a total distance of 101 km. In the prologue of the crew, they will fight in today's evening, from 20:00. In a Saturday stages crew will compete on the roads of Bestwina, Wyry, Chybie and Jastrzebie-Zdrój.
Robert Gabryszewski (Rallytechnology team manager): "From five seasons, we have a chance to fight for victory almost next to Rallytechnology headquarters. Thanks to our crews, we always took great results and statuettes from the Silesian Rally. We will stand together with three crews to this year's edition, and this is our strongest line-up. The whole rate of the fifth RSMP round is extremely tough and the leading table open two duets that have a victory in the Silesian Rally. Kasperczyk and Syta are extremely effective on these routes, but the margin and the economic can take the Polish championship, so we are waiting for a weekend of beautiful sports emotions.
Already now we have new champions in our team who, on their home stages and among their fans, will celebrate the European Rally Championships in the Abarth Rally Cup. All of our crews, just like Rallytechnology, are strongly related to this region and a rally, and this still motivates us to fight.
